Air-Cooled Condenser Cleaning

Those of us living or working in metropolitan areas experience the same disturbing phenomena.  Windows need constant cleaning and automobiles parked on city streets accumulate a tremendous amount of dirt and soot within a day or two.

Air-Cooled CondenserThese effects result because.  The air in our cities carries tremendous amounts of airborne particulates.   Dirt, soot, and grease particles have many sources.  Exhaust from cars, buses, trucks, diesel generators, smoke stacks, kitchens, and other sources spew enormous amounts of dirt into the air.  Some areas of cities have industries that contribute specific contaminants (such as lint and fiber in garment districts).  Sometimes, temporary cases of construction or demolition can spew enormous amounts of dirt into the air.  You may not even be aware of the extent since much of this work occurs after business hours.

Clean Air CoilAirborne dirt and debris cause enormous problems with mechanical equipment that relies on outside air.  One of the most sensitive of these devices is the air-cooled condenser.  This device consists of tightly finned copper coils that are the point at which commercial air conditioning systems reject heat into the outside air.  To accomplish this, enormous amounts of air are blown across these coils by powerful fans.  When this air contains prodigious amount of dirt, such as present in New York City, they quickly become dirty.  They frequently become so dirty that the spaces between the fins become completely filled and little or no cooling air passes over the coils.  The results are high energy-robbing head pressures, shortened compressor life, and an air conditioning system that won't cool.  Severe environmental conditions can lead to some coils repeatedly fouling during an operating season.  The solution is to clean the dirt off the coils.

Increased Condenser Operating Costs

Acid CleaningOur trained, experienced technicians apply non-corrosive coil cleaners to coil surfaces to emulsify oil and grease, dissolve scale and loosen airborne dirt and debris.Acid Cleaning Using special tools, including high-pressure water and chemical sprays, they clean all debris from coils.  Coils are left in a clean, new state, which improves heat transfer efficiency and reduces resistance to airflow.  CSI invested much money and energy in the past 20 years testing and developing chemicals for cleaning, selecting and perfecting equipment, and training mechanics on coils.  When our mechanics are done, coils are clean of fouling dirt and debris!

Special Offer!

Coils cleaned prior to April 1st are billed at reduced, off-season rates.  Any coils cleaned before that date will be recleaned, if needed, during the summer season and billed at off-season prices.
